POLICY OF 3
ANTHOLOGY (DISCOGRAPHY)
Ebullition Records
Policy of 3 was one of the great (emo) hardcore bands of the late '80s and early '90s. Their sound was passionate and compeling with a sound that was cuttinge edge at the time; heavily influenced by the late '80s Dischord hardcore sound. At the time emotive hardcore was something new and exciting. It was all about passion, anger, and was really just another aspect of hardcore... long before emo was turned into frivolous pop punk. This double CD anthology captures all of their studio material (17 tracks) as well as 6 live tracks recorded in Germany in 1995 (a couple of which have never been heard before). Policy of 3 helped to define this sound/genera and this release is an amazing testament to one of the great hardcore bands from that time. LAST COPY!!! The CD comes in a gatefold jacket that was hand screened on chipboard, and there is a nice insert booklet included with lyrics and info about the band.

ROB & THE PINHOLE STARS | BJÖRN KLEINHENZ
SPLIT
Mi Amante Records
It would just be too easy to see in Björn Kleinhenz nothing but the new Northern Singer/Songwriter-Sensation. To be just that, his design of contemplation is too close to the less geographically obvious heroes in adagio, just as The Jayhawks, Canyon or Early Day Miners. Closest though to his own melancholies. Rob & The Pinhole Stars, for their part, seem to be lost to the world while celebrating their thoughtful absence. For their fusion of Singer/Songwriter and minimal electro no emotion seems big enough, as long as it's theirs.

THE VSS
21:51
GSL
This CD collects the first 3 seven-inch releases from THE VSS, all of which are out of print on vinyl. The EP's found here were initially released on Gravity as well as other lesser-known labels. THE VSS included former members of ANGEL HAIR, and played an early hybrid of hardcore, "post" punk goth-inspired "new wave". Comparisons are often drawn to early GARY NUMAN/TUBEWAY ARMY, PiL and BAUHAUS. Members went on to form SLAVES/PLEASURE FOREVER and SUBPOENA THE PAST. 10 tracks.

THREADS
S/T
Violent Change
Formed out of the despair of human living to counteract the grim realities of failed life, THREADS hit the scene like an Atomic bomb hitting Sheffield. Featuring ex members of such legendary bands as Boxed In, Health Hazard, Khang, Dead Wrong, Baby Harp Seal and Month Of Birthdays. The Threads sound is best described as what would have Deep Purple sounded like if Greg Ginn and joined them after Flag broke up. You get nine hard hitting stoner rock anthems played with a vicious punk bite not unlike fallen heroes Goatsnake.

THE GREY
ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL
Lovitt Records
The Grey is a powerful, melodic rock quartet that periodically delves into experimental tangents. With influences ranging from Fugazi, the Jesus Lizard, Seaweed, Drive Like Jehu, and Juno to Tom Petty, The MC5, Neil Young, and Nick Cave, one can be assured that hints of styles, new and established, can be found in their post-rock stylings. Formed in the spring of 2003 in Ottawa, Canada, with ex-members of previous bands such as Shotmaker, Three Penny Opera, and Buried Inside The Grey turned sporadic practices among old friends in a sweltering attic into a weekly ritual.

RYE COALITION
JERSEY GIRLS
Tiger Style
This 7 song monster of an EP feature 4 unreleased tracks, 2 out of print 7" tracks and 1 track from Rye's last full length, On Top. To boot, it is an enhanced CD with a video for "Stop Eating While I'm Smoking" that must be seen to be believed. Think Gwar robots take over Jersey...we kid you not.

THE APPLESEED CAST
PEREGRINE
Aloud Music
The latest album by The Appleseed Cast, Peregrine, is: spacious, thick, brooding, joyful, explosive, and back and forth, yet somehow seamless at the same time. Peregrine carries tones and sounds (at times) as stormy and spooky as the album's theme/storyline lends. All in 13 tracks, Peregrine significantly yields what the band's last four albums offered striking glimpses of. Overcoming a reflective hiatus to their career-defining, long-awaited return, The Appleseed Cast reemerge-- living out their "Fight Songs" and "Mile Markers".

RELEASING HATE
DON'T FORGET DREAMS
Sell Our Souls
Epic and anthemic Hardcore following their self-released debut called "Fight For Your Cause" (2004). Hailing from the small town El Masnou, Barcelona, these 5 guys play honest and passionate music inspired by Bane and the Cro-Mags, taking the best from the past and the present. They are probably the best inspiring and passionate band from Spain, embodying the same raw emotion found in bands like Killing The Dream, Modern Life Is War or Shai Hulud. The album features 10 tracks developed with passion, aggresion, power, energy and heart.

THUMBNAIL
THAT STATIC + 2
Stiffslack Records
Finally, Thumbnail's final full-length, "That Static" (FT30), becomes available nearly three years after its conception. Born in a tiny Knoxville Tennessee kitchen, Thumbnail pioneered their brand of brash, technical punk rock pulling elements from Sonic Youth's "Daydream Nation", Big Black's "Songs About Fucking", and the emerging Gravity Records sound of the early '90s. Thumbnail's sound, branded with distortion and fuzz, teeters somewhere between the rock of Chavez's "Ride the Fader" and the metal of Sabbath's "Paranoid". This final chapter in the Thumbnail story was recorded in the fall of '98 with Greg Norman (90 Day Men, Don Caballero). Pushing the analog envelopes to the limits for three solid weeks, Norman helped capture ten songs phased in dueling guitar solos, bass growl, and a blistering drum sound.

DEVOID OF FAITH / VOORHEES
NETWORK OF FRIENDS PART 5 SPLIT CD
Coalition Records
These are DEVOID OF FAITH’S farewell recordings, and they will go out with a big bang. Fast and uncompromising hardcore in the vein of early eighties NYC and Boston bands with intelligent lyrics. VOORHEES released great records over the last few years. Their style is uncompromising and similar to bands like SIEGE, SSD, DEEP WOUND, JERRY’S KIDS. And these VOORHEES songs are no exception. Once again they released a record full of anger and hate. Both bands have split up and members went on to form bands such as DAS OATH, THE HORROR, JOHN BROWN’S ARMY, DEATHSQUAD. White vinyl!!

JOSHUA
THE BAGGAGE
13 Grabaciones
How can anyone deny such a smooth, melodic, catchy sound? Joshua are back for one final release with five sweet and beautiful songs that will grip your emotions and take you on an adventure of heartbreaks and make ups. Following on from their previous releases on Doghouse and Immigrant Sun, Dan Coutant and Co. bring us a swansong that retains their trademark "emo" sound but also expands their musicianship and creativity. These songs maintain the aggressive, energetic, post punk feel that Joshua became famous for whilst touring with the likes of Get Up Kids and Burning Airlines. All five of these heartfelt songs are mellow and almost melancholic but will stick in your head for some time to come.
MINUS THE BEAR
THIS IS WHAT I KNOW ABOUT BEING GIGANTIC
Cydonia Records
Members of Northwest all-stars KILL SADIE, BOTCH and SHARKS KEEP MOVING deliver five songs with their new collaborative project MINUS THE BEAR. The perfect mix of catchy melodies, angular textures placed just right and a hearty dose of spaced out atmosphere come together with stellar arrangements to raise the bar for debut EPs. This is essential rock and roll with a twist for the now and a focus on time-honored themes of drinking and girls that smoke.

JEJUNE
R.I.P.
Big Wheel Recreation
Although Jejune might forever be tagged an "emo" outfit, one listen to just about any song in their repertoire will wash away any overbearing steretypes, in favor of pure adulation for their craft. This San Diego-based trio amaze and inspire with some of the most stimulatig, guiatr-driven angst you're likely to hear, delievered with unparrelleled passion and verve. Effectively titled "RIP," this record contains five new songs, five songs some 7" sessions and 1 remix of a song from their last album. This is their final farewell.

NATHALIEN GREEN
SAME TIME TOMORROW
Sell Out! Music
This is the debut album from one of the best pop bands in the UK. First released by london based label Firefly Recordings and now reissued by us and remastered with their now out of print "Down to you then supergirl" EP as bonustracks. This is great indie-pop based around two voices, an acoustic guitar and a fender rhodes piano, but spiced up a bit with some drums, bass, electric guitars, keyboards and some brass stuff. The songs will remind you of everything from Bright Eyes, to Dashboard Confessional, to Big Star, to Karate, to Stevie Wonder.

TURNING POINT
1988 - 1991
Jade Tree
TURNING POINT were probably your favorite band's favorite band at one point, but with their records long out of print and their remarkable live shows tucked into memory, you might never know. That's why we've banded together this 39-song discography that collects all of TURNING POINT'S recorded output, bootlegs, live shows, and compilation material onto one compact disc. If you were there, you'll probably throw on your hoodie and dance around your bedroom like the good ol' days. If you weren't, you'll probably wish you were.

TRAENING
BETTER THAN THIS
Loveless Records
From Denmark, insistent, slightly melancholic, angular (but not awkward), slightly shoegazing and intelligent popmusic in every sense, consisting elements from Swedish indie-pop, American noise-pop and New Yorker Noise-Rock. But nothing of the mentioned fully captures Traening's very own sound. The ten songs are well-written and are played with a great deal of persuasion. The production could easily be called "medium-fi",both pleasant and dargerous for the ears. The minimalistic, honest and heart-rendering vocals of Marie Eline Hansen is an interesting contrast to the music, consisting of hard drums, cool guitars and bass and all the tiny soundbits from old synthies, melodica, glockenspiel.Jonas Bjerre from MEW even called it one of the best albums he heard in a long time.
